This weekend I was privileged to serve the ladies of Due West UMC on their ladies retreat. While our theme was “Removing Your Mask: Trading Satan’s Lies for God’s Truth,” the real message was “Know the Word of God”. We need to hide it deep in our hearts so it is always available to us. When Satan comes knocking on our door, like Jesus, we can send him packing by battling with the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God [Ephesians 6:17].
The morning after our first session together, the Lord showed me how spending time with Him and having His Word planted in our hearts makes us more beautiful. Isn’t God good? He gives us something we desire by spending time with Him.
In Exodus 34:29-30 it says, “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.”
Whenever we are in the presence of the Father, we come face to face with His glory. And as we Hide His Word in our hearts, like Moses, we are carriers of the Word. We radiate the Lord when we take His Word to others. [Isaiah 52:7]
How much easier can beauty treatments be? Spend time with the Lord and carry His Word in your heart and you will be more beautiful. Just think of all the time and money you’ll save. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” [Matthew 6:33]
