I was riding home from the mountains yesterday when a billboard caught my attention. It wasn’t the product being advertised that caused me to take a second look. In fact, I don’t even recall what the advertisement was for, but the slogan struck me. It read “What we see depends on what we look for.” It was profound and very true.
Most people who call themselves Christ followers would say they want an intimate relationship with Jesus, but are they really looking for it? Are you?
Jeremiah 29:13 tells us if we seek Him with all our heart we will find Him. Matthew 6:33 tells us if we seek His kingdom and His righteousness, then everything else will fall into place.
If we truly want an intimate relationship with Christ, the Bible makes it clear what we must do. Are you seeing Him? Are you looking for Him? “What we see depends on what we look for.” What are you looking for?
It amazes me how many people ‘say’ they are Christians, yet rarely open their Bibles other than on Sunday and rarely spend time talking to the Lord. I know this is true because I used to be one of those.
I pray that I NEVER, NEVER go back to the way I was. I love being head over heels in love with Jesus!!
