The weather at the Lighthouse has been very sunny this week, but the wind has been fairly strong. Wednesday morning was gorgeous. The sun was shining, we were able to have Morning Watch on the beach with worship and a message and then we broke into groups and worked on our talent show. There was hardly any wind in the morning and the children played hard in the sand and sun. It was a wonderful time.
Wednesday evening we had a luau with a low country boil for dinner. Everyone was festive, but the wind kicked up. We were not able to have our talent show because of the wind and at first the children seemed so disappointed. However, our production team turned a bad situation into a wonderful evening. They pulled out dance music and everyone….young and old, patient and volunteer, began to dance. It turned into the biggest dance party on the beach you’ve ever seen. Laughter surrounded the area and smiles were on every face.
These precious families deal with life and death every day. They are in and out of hospitals and don’t have much to smile about, let alone laugh. But on this night, they laughed and they danced. Immediately, the Lord reminded me of Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 where it says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,”
Whatever you are going through right now, trust the Lord has a reason for it and a season for it. He is faithful to see you through.
