How many of you love to know a secret? In some ways it makes you feel special to know a secret because you know you were chosen to hear it. How would you like to know some of God’s secrets? You can.
In Jeremiah 33:3 we read “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” God has a secret He is willing to tell us. He wants to tell us, but we have to be willing to call to Him in prayer.
In Matthew 7:7 Jesus says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Jesus is a gentleman. He isn’t going to force Himself on anyone. He desperately wants a relationship with us. He wants to share His secrets with us, yet He requires us take a step.
In the verses above we read the words call, ask, seek, and knock. Those are all action verbs indicating we must bring action to the relationship. The distance between us and Jesus is only one step, but we must take that step. We don’t even need to meet Him halfway. All we have to do is show a commitment to the relationship and He’ll come running [Luke 15:20].
So, do you want to know a secret? Then do something about it.
