Are you matter or do you matter? Have you ever thought about it? Do you simply occupy space or are you doing something? The Christian walk is called a walk, because it is active and moves forward. It requires effort and energy.
Christ was very clear in John 14:6 when He said, “”I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” However, love without demonstration is just a word. Christ demonstrated His love for us by dying on the cross for our sins. How are you demonstrating your love for Him?
In James 2:14-26 it is clear faith without works is of no use. I love the way Rich Mullins put it when he sang “Faith without works is like a screen door on a submarine.” There just isn’t any use for it.
I have heard it said a million times, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much your care. The greatest tool for witnessing to another is to love them like Jesus would by being His hands and feet and meeting a felt need in their life. Once they begin to see you doing something for them, they will ask why. You are given an open door to share how Jesus loves them and called you to care for them. It gets their attention.
What do you spend your time doing? Are you doing things that matter? Are they things that hold Kingdom value? Would it make a difference in someone entering heaven if you didn’t do those things? Is it making a difference in someone entering heaven because you are doing those things?
I realize there are a lot of questions being thrown at you today. Every now and then, we just need to stop and question why we’re doing what we’re doing. Too many times, we ramble our way through our day with no specific purpose or agenda other than getting to the end of the day. God desires so much more for us. He told us in John 10:10 He came for us to have abundant life….life that matters and makes an impact for the Kingdom. Are you living in abundance? If not, ask Him how you can begin to live in abundance today.
