If you read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, it is very clear there is a time for every event under heaven, both the positives and the negatives. What are you going through right now? Is it a good time or a bad time? Does it help you to know it is serving a purpose?
God wastes nothing. If you are going through a difficult time right now, Genesis 50:20 reminds us things the enemy meant for evil in our life, God uses for good. Philippians 4:6 makes it clear God will complete what He started in our lives. He didn’t forget about us or pass us by. He is very much at work in our lives.
When times are difficult, we need to remember to take time to praise God. So many people only want to praise Him when things are going their way. Psalm 7:18 says we give thanks because of His righteousness. Psalm 136:1 says “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.” Our circumstances should not determine our praises. By the end of the movie, Facing the Giants, the football team understood this concept. As they gathered in their pre-game huddle, the team captain said, “If we win, we praise Him and if we lose, we praise Him.”
God is faithful and just [1 John 1:9] and He loves his children and doesn’t withhold blessings from them [Matthew 7:11; John 3:16]. With determination, reach out and take hold of Him [Matthew 9:21]. He will never leave you nor forsake you [Deuteronomy 31:6]. Now that deserves to be praised!
