Are you tired? Are you weary? Have you been working hard and it is catching up with you? We all get that way from time to time. When Jesus took on human form, He experienced everything we experience. He even got tired.
In John 4:6 we read how Jesus had been traveling from Judea on His way to Galilee and He went through Samaria. He came to Jacob’s well and it says “Jesus, worn out from His journey, sat down at the well. It was about six in the evening.” [HCSB] It was the end of a long day, He had been traveling and He was worn out. He knows what it feels like to be worn out and you can cry out to Him for strength when you’re there.
Fortunately for us, when the Lord ascended into heaven, He left behind the trappings of His earthly body and all of the limitations with it. Romans 8:34 tells us Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us. He knows what we’re going through, because He experienced it first hand and because of His experience, He knows how to pray for us. He knows what we need to get through our day. How awesome is that?
When you get tired or feel like you’re at the end of your rope, don’t quit. Instead, rest in the Lord [Psalm 62:5] and trust Him to give you all you need to carry on.
