If you were told you could have an instrumental role in saving someone’s life, but it would require you to sacrifice a few hours of sleep would you do it? What if you were told it would require you to sacrifice some of your money to save someone’s life? What if you were asked to sacrifice your reputation to save someone’s life or possibly even multiple lives, would you be willing?
This week is referred to as Holy Week by many Christians. At Lovinggood FCA this week is called FREEDOM WEEK. We have FCA every day of the week to drive home where our focus should be prior to the students having a week off for spring break. Each morning the leadership team has to arrive at 7:30 a.m. to prepare for the students to come at 8 a.m. Every day they have a different program planned for the students. Monday: live worship; Tuesday: breakfast with student leader testimonies; Wednesday: 7 lap prayer walk around the school; Thursday: student talent show with a leadership skit at the end; and Friday: FCA Huddle Meeting with former NFL player Steve Wallace speaking. Needless to say, there is a lot of time, money and energy involved in making this week happen from our student leaders and our parent volunteers.
Yesterday, following the student leader testimonies, 17 students committed their lives to Christ and are now assured eternal life. These student leaders made great sacrifices, but they reaped a great reward [Hosea 10:12].
The Lord is looking someone to come along beside Him and partner in ministry [2 Chronicles 16:9]. Jesus told the disciples in Matthew 9:37 “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” Are you willing to become a harvester for the Kingdom? It will cost you something, but the blessings that follow will be beyond measure.
What price tag are you willing to put on someone’s life? What degree of sacrifice are you willing to make to save another? Jesus was willing to make the greatest sacrifice of all for you. What will you do for Him?
