Do you know someone who has recently lost their job? Maybe you yourself have been down sized out of a position. Our country is going through difficulty right now. Many people talk of fearing the future.
The good news of the Gospel is we don’t have to fear our future. Jesus is very clear about worry. In Matthew 6:34 He says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” He just finished telling the people how they need not worry about food or clothing or any other basic need. We are His children and He takes care of His children [Matthew 7:11]. His bank account is never depleted or impacted by the economy of this world [Psalm 50:9-12].
Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” The all these things referred to in this verse are the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. God will take care of you always.
The enemy would love to keep you wound up in fear and anxiety. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear and anxiety over your finances and well being is not from God. God’s plans for you are abundant life, not death and destruction [John 10:10]. He desires to give you hope [Jeremiah 29:11].
1 Corinthians 15:57 reminds us victory is ours through Christ Jesus. Whatever we face, we do not face alone [Joshua 1:5]. He is with us and He will provide for us whatever we need to be victorious. Seek Him first!
