Have you ever gone out to dinner and when the bill comes it is more than you expected? You get a little nervous feeling in your stomach because you don’t know if you have enough in your wallet to cover it. It can be a stressful time.
Fortunately, in the Kingdom of God we never have to worry about the resources running out. God owns it all. He reminds us in Psalm 50:10 He owns all of the animals, even the cattle on a thousand hills. No matter what your situation, the Lord has what you need to see you through it. What we must accept is He may decide to meet our need in a different way than we would choose. When the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years they didn’t go without food. The Lord fed them every day, but He chose to do so with manna instead of giving them a variety of food to choose from each day [Exodus 16:1-4].
God doesn’t just provide what we need to feed our bodies. He equips us with whatever we need period. If He calls us to do something, He will give us the skill set to do it, even if we don’t feel like we can [Hebrews 13:20-21]. Think about it, if we feel like we can handle a situation, then where is the need for God? The task isn’t up to us; it is up to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 says “The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.” So how will you do it? You won’t. It clearly says it is up to the Lord. I love the way a new friend of mine put it: “If it’s His will, it’s His bill.”
No matter what you are facing in life, God is there. No matter how things look, will you embrace Proverbs 3:5-6? “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” All you have to do is be a willing vessel for Him to work through. Are you willing?
