Do you ever feel you’re on a path you didn’t choose? It seems like one bad thing happens after another and you start counting them because somewhere you heard bad things come in threes. Too many times we feel like we’re in the middle of a mess and no one is noticing, including God.
First of all, God is omniscient. There is nothing under heaven that takes place without His knowledge [Job 24:23; Psalm 33:13-15]. When you experience joy, He knows. When you are going through hardship, He knows. He also promises to never leave us nor forsake us [Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5]. In Psalm 23:4 He promises to go with us through the valleys we walk through. Psalm 66:12 says “You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us to a place of abundance.” Many times the walk through difficulty is simply the pathway to the blessings God has for us.
God is faithful and we can trust in His faithfulness [Psalm 33:4]. God is love and we can trust in His love for us [1 John 4:8, 16]. When we feel like everything is against us, we can always rest in knowing God is for us [Romans 8:31].
Laura Story has a song out titled Blessings. It reminds us how the Lord works through unlikely situations to deliver us blessings. No matter where you are in life today or what you’re going through, He is with you and He is showering you with blessings. Some of those blessings look different than you’d expect.
