What would you do if power, resources and ability didn’t stand in your way? When you close your eyes at night, what do you dream of doing? What’s stopping you from doing it? Before you make your list of reasons why you can’t do what you dream about doing, I want you to look up Matthew 19:26 and read it, because I believe it will wipe out all of your excuses…that is if you truly believe it. [Side note here, I’m not going to give you Matthew 19:26. I really am going to make you look it up.]
You see, we say we believe in the Word of God. We read it, we quote it, some of us teach it or preach it, but in order for it to come alive, in order for it to make a difference in our lives, in order for it to empower us, we have to truly believe it. We have to believe it is alive, active and applicable to us. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Now that’s powerful….that’s alive.
If we believe the Word of God is true, then we need to act on our dreams. We need to take words like “can’t” and “impossible” out of our vocabulary. In Matthew 17:20, Jesus said “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” When we have faith in God and His Word and we’re willing to try to do what He plants in our hearts and minds to do, we will be astounded. Nothing is impossible with God [Luke 1:37]. Nothing means nothing… “no part, share or trace” of anything.
Orphanages are started in third world countries because people had the audacity to believe God’s Word. Murderers give their lives to Jesus because people took God at His word. Movements like Passion and One Thing were started because ordinary people who had a dream decided to trust the Lord and His Word. Marriages are restored and people one step away from death are living today because of simple faith in a man named Jesus and what He said.
So I’ll ask you again, what would you do if power, resources and ability didn’t stand in your way? What do you dream about? Don’t you think it’s time to start making your dreams a reality?
