Do you ever feel like you need to wear a sign around your neck that says “Work in Progress” so others understand when you do or say something wrong? You want to live your life in a way that honors God, but you still mess up. The good news is God isn’t finished with us yet. There are sharp places He needs to make smooth and deposits He needs to make to complete the work He is doing in us. It takes time.
It’s freeing to know the Lord is the one responsible for the work being done in our lives. Philippians 1:6 says, “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” He started the work and it is His to complete. We can’t make ourselves like Christ any more than a sculpture can smooth out its rough edges. Our role is to cooperate with Him by yielding to His touch as He shapes and molds us into what we were created to be [Isaiah 64:8].
Rest in knowing He leaves nothing unfinished [1 Thessalonians 5:24]. You aren’t perfect, but the Master is not finished with you yet. He’s still at work in you.
Pause today and ask the Lord to reveal areas of your life where you need to yield to Him. He desires to shape you into His likeness, but this requires you to submit to His hand as He shapes and molds you. Where do you need to yield?
