elephantHave you read Rescuing Hope? Have you been to an event where the keynote speaker talked about the issue of sex trafficking in America? It can be overwhelming when you think of the magnitude of the issue. 100,000 trafficked in the United States, the majority of those American citizens. 300,000 at risk of being trafficked. 27+ million slaves in the known world today.

What do you do with those staggering numbers? How do you respond? The same way you eat an elephant… one bite at a time.

We raise our voice, demanding stiffer penalties for perpetrators and more services for the victims [Proverbs 31:8]. We talk to people in our sphere of influence, whether it’s the classroom or the boardroom. We reach out for those who come across our path [Matthew 25:40]. We do this by volunteering with the organizations on the front lines or simply by loving those young people we encounter in our day to day routines. We cry out to the Lord in prayer [Psalm 55:22, Isaiah 30:19]. We pray without ceasing, until we see a move of God [Luke 18:1-8].

What will you do today?
