How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? It’s a day we choose to declare our love to others and we demonstrate it in a variety of ways.
Will you get dressed up and go out for a romantic dinner? Or will you prepare something delicious for your Valentine? Will you be swapping cards and candies to celebrate? Maybe you’re sitting there saying,
Susan, I don’t have a Valentine to celebrate with today.”
Well, you’re wrong! Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love. God is love [1 John 4:8]. It is because of Him we are even capable of love [1 John 4:19]. He loved us enough to come to earth and die for our sins [John 3:16]. He loved us, even when we were unlovable [Romans 5:8]. Ephesians 1:4 says,
For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.”
Jesus is the ULTIMATE VALENTINE! He is like a little boy in elementary school, extending his Valentine card out to another asking, Will you be my Valentine? [Revelation 3:20]. He’s waiting patiently for your answer. Each and every day He asks you this question. How you respond will not determine His love for you, because you can’t change it. But, it will determine the depth of your relationship with Him.
Do you love Him? Will you be His Valentine today? If so, how will you demonstrate your love for Him? How will it look today?
