River 3How did you spend your day yesterday? I had the opportunity to camp out at one of my favorite coffee shops in the city and work for a while. The scenery was beautiful, there was a gentle hum of conversations and computer clicks in the background, and the coffee was Alf Coffeetasty, even if it looked a little strange in the presentation. I think the barista had a sense of humor and wanted to know if I’d say anything. The artwork reminded me a bit of Alf.

After getting a couple of hours of work under my belt, I had the opportunity to meet with a survivor. She’s 23 and has experienced more evil in one day than I have in my lifetime. As her story unfolded my heart broke and I wanted to take her into my arms as a mother would her child. This precious one is a mama herself and is doing all she can to get her life back together and create a safe, stable home for her children.

As I was sharing a bit of my day with someone on my prayer shield, she said,

You know, we just need to duplicate you.”

While there have been many times I wish I could be two places at once, I’ve yet to figure out how to do it. What I am recognizing is the need to find others who are willing to be through people, as I blogged about several days ago. You can read that post here. As Jesus said once to His disciples in Matthew 9:37-38,

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”

I am asking the Lord to prick the hearts of His children and draw their attention to the issue of sex trafficking. I understand that everyone has “their issue” they advocate for and many see this issue as mine. However, this one issue impacts all of humanity. It is an issue that will touch all of us directly or indirectly. I’ve been known to say even the most morally bankrupt person on the planet needs to pay attention to this issue, and then I explain why.

Will you pray with me? Will you ask the Lord to raise up more foot soldiers for this fight? And then will you listen to hear what He calls you to do as your part of the fight?

Look around. Take a stand. Raise your voice for hope!
