Do you enjoy road trips? For me, it honestly depends on where and why I’m traveling.
Today, I will hit the road to visit some of the Hopes I mentor. I’ll visit four of my girls in two different states to check in, see how things are going for them and give out hugs along the way.
One of my girls is graduating from a year long restorative care program. She has wrestled with God similarly to Jacob and is now walking with a new identity in Christ Jesus [Genesis 32:24-28].
It was hard at times, but she refused to give up. She even packed her bags and left the program for a couple of weeks only to turn around and return. She wanted her freedom, and she was willing to invest the blood, sweat and tears necessary to get it. So this week we celebrate!
As Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says, there is a season for every activity under heaven:
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”
This week will be our time to dance and celebrate because this child of God was once lost, but now she is found; she was blind, but now she sees [John 9:25]. This is one of the best reasons to road trip I know.
I covet your prayers as I travel. I will also be meeting with a young lady who is still in the life, but wanted to talk with me. She wants to hear what her options are if she leaves the life. She’s scared. She’s been told she can never leave. Pray for her chains to fall and for freedom to come to her this week.
I’ll see you back here on the 13th. Be blessed and be a blessing.
The verse you shared from Ecclesiastes has helped me stay strong through the season of my moms heart problems. We are entering a season of healing now and I’m super pumped!!
