What do you do when you really need to see God move in your life? We all have needs from time to time. There are days when we feel buried in our needs.
I am part of an intercessory prayer group at my church and yesterday we talked about this concept. We decided to take out our swords, the Word of God according to Ephesians 6:17, and we searched the scriptures for answers to our needs. As a group, we would helped one another. It’s always great to have others to help you in your time of need [Ecclesiastes 4:9, Proverbs 27:17].
Because I currently have several of my girls in need of a good job that pays a livable wage, I wanted scriptures on provision.
Psalm 23:1 says,
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
If you read further to verse five it says,
…my cup overflows.”
Philippians 4:19 says,
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
There were others, but you get the idea. This morning, I pulled out the list of scriptures and turned them into prayers, personalizing them by putting the names of my Hopes that have the need of provision today. I also asked Him to reveal if there are any choices or actions on their part that have created stumbling blocks to finding quality employment and if so to reveal it to them. I felt a sense of peace settle over me as I prayed scripture over them. I know the Lord’s heart is to fulfill His word, so there is power in praying scripture.
What needs do you have in your life? You can find promises you can pray through between Genesis and Revelation. Part of the blessing is in the search. You’ll come across all kinds of treasures in the process. Why not start digging today.
Great post! Wise advice that will make a difference. God promises that His Word will not return void, so claim that promise for your Hopes! Bless you, friend.
Thanks, Leah. I always appreciate your feedback!
HI Susan, I find that when I take a few minutes to sit with Him, Bible opened, the peace flows in like a river. Thank you for these verses and for reminding us to “Be Still and Know that He is God”, Psalm 46:10 AND that He is in control of all things!
Joan, thank you for your encouragement. We all need those gentle reminders from time to time, myself especially. He truly is the best friend we have. Be blessed!
