Have you seen a movie in the theater lately? It’s been hard in the past couple of years to find movies worth my time and money. So many of them would be enjoyable to watch; however, they’re filled with horrific language and I just can’t get past it to grasp the message of the movie.
Recently, there have been more movies coming to the big screen that have attracted my attention.
I shared with you a while back how much I enjoyed War Room. If you haven’t see it, I highly recommend it. You can read my post on it here.
Yesterday, Mark and I went to see Woodlawn. It is based on a true story that took place in Birmingham, Alabama in the early 70s. Racial tension still existed as the nation was trying to desegregate the schools. Some people were more open to this move than others. It was a difficult time for the state of Alabama. The trailer to this movie will grab you:

As you can see, a life lived for the Lord impacts not only the person who is living for Him, but those who are witnessing it.
The Coach was drawn to what he saw in his players, and it changed him. It changed how he coached football, it changed what he stood for, and it changed his community.
One of my favorite verses of the Bible is Acts 1:8,
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The people of Alabama not only witnessed a spectacular football player, team and coach… they witnessed what happens when an all powerful God grabs hold of lives and transforms them for His purposes, to do things His way.
The main character, Tony Nathan, had to overcome his fear to walk in his destiny. Then, he didn’t just lead a football team, he lead a city to live “one way.”
What’s holding you back from your destiny? Do you think it’s too powerful for God to overcome it? I don’t. We just have to give it to Him and be willing to live one way- for Him and Him alone. You can do it! You’re not alone.
