Have you ever been to a concert in a large arena? Several years ago, I took my daughter to see one of her favorite country music artists, Chris Young, for her birthday. He was opening for Brad Paisley. Since it was her birthday, I splurged for good seats. We were on row 25, which was exciting for her.
At the end of Chris Young’s performance, someone who worked at the arena came up to me and asked me how many people were in my party. I told her two and she asked to see my tickets. I wasn’t sure what the problem was. I paid for my tickets months ago. I showed her my tickets and she asked me,
Do you want to go to the front row down in the pit?”
What kind of question is that? Do I want front row? Um, YES!!! She told me to hold out my wrist and she put a band of identification on it stating I had special access. She asked for my daughter’s wrist and did the same. Then she told us to follow her.
When Brad Paisley came out, he literally stood right in front of us. My daughter threw her arms around my neck and said it was the best birthday ever. That was eight years ago and she’s still talking about it.
We all like to have special access to places and a guide to make sure we get where we are going. Many times we fail to realize we have that with Jesus. We have direct access to the Throne room at the feet of Father God because Jesus marked us. Revelation 7:3 says,
Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”
When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we become part of the family of God and the Spirit bears witness to that fact [Romans 8:6]. We cannot do anything to earn it and we certainly don’t deserve it [Romans 3:23]. All we have to do is believe [1 John 1:9].
Getting a fast pass to the front row of the concert was pretty cool. Looking up and seeing Brad Paisley looking right back at us, close enough to touch wasn’t something we do every day. However, we have opportunity to be in front of God every day and one day those who call Him Father will see Him face to face [1 Corinthians 13:12].
So what are you waiting for? The Holy Spirit is ready to take you there.
