Making the impossible possible…

What's your dream? If you could do anything, go anywhere, see anything, what would it be? If you're having trouble coming up with an answer, think back to what you wanted to be when you grew up. Most of us put few restrictions on ourselves when we were little. We thought that anything was possible. What happened? We grew up. We allowed ourselves to get jaded. We factored God out of the equation and started looking at what we were capable of doing. Suddenly, our dreams got very small... small and realistic. Possible. Mark 10:14 says, When Jesus saw this, He [...]

How in the world did that happen?

Do you dream? Not just when you're asleep, but do you dream with your eyes open? It's suggested that the most successful people in the world are big dreamers. You might be one of those people that dreams, but you just don't call it dreaming.  Do you have a list of goals or wishes? It's the same thing. It's wanting something that is a reach, a stretch, or wildly beyond your control. Your dream may be something crazy, like winning the lottery and never having to work again. It could be noble, like wanting the hole in the heart of [...]

5 Reasons Our Dreams Aren’t Reality

Are you a dreamer? Do you sit around and dream up wild ideas and possibly even write them down? What do you do with them then? Do you put them carefully on a shelf until you take time to sit around and dream some more? Do you listen to the voices that say, "There's no way!" or "Dream on, sister!" or do you look for ways to make them go from paper to reality? I  have a notebook I write quotes, scriptures and famous sayings in that speak to me.  Somewhere along the way, I penned this one about dreams. [...]

What’s your dream?

What do you dream about doing? Is there something you would love to do, but it seems too difficult, nearly impossible? God loves dreamers.  He writes about them in His book. Jacob was a dreamer.  In Genesis 28:10-22 he dreamed of a stairway going from heaven to earth with angels ascending and descending on it. God used the dream to speak to Jacob and let him know he wasn't alone. Joseph was a dreamer.  Just a few chapters later in Genesis 37, Joseph has two dreams and shares them with his brothers. His brothers weren't too impressed with his dreams. [...]

When a nightmare becomes a reality…….

When was the last time you had a bad dream? Was it as a child or recently?  Last night I had a very vivid nightmare.  I dreamed that I was a trafficking victim. It was the middle of winter and we were in a horrible snow storm.  People were encouraged to stay off the roads for fear of accidents.  My pimp sent me outside without a coat to be picked up by a john. He pulled up, I climbed in the car, and we started to drive.  He didn't say anything to me other than, "We're going to have a [...]

The Voice!

Did you watch the season premiere of the Voice last night?  A friend of mine, James Shealy, auditioned.  He was one of the top 100 chosen for the blind auditions out of the 40,000 who tried out.  Unfortunately, none of the judges turned their chair around for him. Their loss, in my humble opinion. So, what does that mean? Does that mean he should go home, find a new dream, and move on? Absolutely not! It just means God has a different way of fulfilling the dream He planted in James' heart long ago. So many times when things don't happen the [...]

What’s your dream?

What is your dream?  Do you have one?  Is it beyond what you’re capable of doing on your own?  Dreams aren’t really dreams unless they’re naturally beyond your reach.  Otherwise, they’re just plans. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream.  In his famous I Have a Dream speech, he declares, I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of [...]
