Be……..

Does your family go on Sunday drives? You may be too young to even know what I'm talking about. When I was growing up there were Sundays when my family would pile in the car and take off on a Sunday drive. We would ride up into the mountains and enjoy the scenery or sometimes we'd ride out into the country. It was a way to pass the time by and because we weren't in a hurry to get anywhere in particular, it was relaxing, or so our parents told us. Reflecting back on it today, it was probably my [...]

Lobby Day 2015: Raise Your Voice for Hope

Are you familiar with Lobby Day in Georgia? Lobby Day is a day set aside by the front line organizations in the fight against domestic minor sex trafficking where people come together as one united voice. The first Lobby Day I attended was in February of 2011.  The group gathered on the capitol steps to listen to various speakers about the steps necessary to combat the fight against sex trafficking in our state before tugging on the ears of those in the legislature. Psalm 55:22 says, Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall." 1 Peter 5:7 says, Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." The Lord can step into any situation and impact it. He is not confined by time [...]

You’ve Got Mail!

Do you like receiving mail?  I don’t particularly enjoy weeding through the junk mail or the bills, but there’s something exciting about looking down and seeing a card or letter addressed to me.  It speaks volumes before it’s ever opened.  It says someone was thinking of me, but they didn’t stop there.  They thought of me and then took the time to write a card or letter to me.  It says they care and they value me. Today people tend to receive email rather than mail. Back in 1998 Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks starred in a movie called You’ve [...]
