He’s a Great Writer!

My Newest Journal Do you journal? I have been journaling off and on for years. It is a wonderful way for me to process my thoughts and feelings. It is also a way for me to record what I feel the Lord is saying to me, Scripture verses that speak deeply to me in a season of life and even song lyrics that speak to my heart. My husband shared with me this weekend that he wanted to read back through some of his old journals, so he started pulling them out and found every one from his [...]

Do you have people?

Do you frequent Starbucks? I must admit that I have the Starbucks app on my phone because I'm in there so often. It's not that I'm loyal to Starbucks. They just happen to be on just about every corner in Atlanta. It's a convenience thing. I just spend a lot of time in coffee shops. I love local, mom and pop, coffee shops too. Coffee shops are a great place to meet people. They're a fabulous place to write because people won't disturb you but you have the buzz of life going on around you. I do remember a time several years [...]

Front Line Friday!

Today is Front Line Friday and I have been asked by some of you to share my story, how I came to be involved in the fight against sex trafficking in America. So, in response to your inquiries, our front line guest is yours truly. I will keep to the general format of the day, answering some of the same questions I have asked my other guests. I hope you enjoy. When did you first hear about the issue of sex trafficking in America? It was May 2010. I was coming to the close of four years of workings for the Fellowship [...]

Do you have a big but?

Do you have a big but in your life? I'd love to go on a mission trip, but I don't have the money to go and could never raise it. I'd love to join the fight against sex trafficking, but I don't have any skills of value to offer. I'd love to help in my community, but I don't know where to start. I'd be willing to do _______, but I don't want to be the only one. (You fill in the blank.) Smith Wigglesworth was a brilliant man of God who spoke great wisdom and truth. He once said, If there are [...]

Who knew God offered writing lessons?

The Beatitudes Do you read many blogs? I have a couple that I read on a regular basis, because I enjoy them and because I'm able to learn from them.  One of the greatest tools we have as learners is other people.  Dave Ramsey suggests you find someone who is doing what you want to do well and study them.  It's like a living breathing classroom. One of the most well known bloggers in cyberspace is Michael Hyatt, the former CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing.  He seems to have a gazillion subscribers and he has multiple comments left [...]

One step at a time…

Are you any good at math?  I have to say as far as academics go, mathematics isn't my strong suit.  I made decent grades in math in school, but I never soared above the class or made the highest grade on a test in any math class.  It was hard for me. Writing was more my comfort zone.  In college, I could land a 100 on an essay exam.  As I've said before, I have the spiritual gift of blab.  Math is another story. It wasn't until college that I ever enjoyed a math class. It had little to do [...]
