My computer crashed yesterday. I mean, the light was on, but nobody was home. I could plug the power cord in and see it was receiving power, but nothing would boot up. The screen was totally black. Knowing I write almost every morning for the blog, I knew I was in a mess.
I packed up the computer and drove down the street to “The Computer Chick” in Kennesaw, my local computer repair shop, and donned the most pitiful face I could and prepared to beg if necessary. Linda, the owner of the Computer Chick, bent over backwards to help me. Once she diagnosed my problem, we determined the most cost effective way to go was a new computer… just what I planned to buy right at Christmas time, right?! Linda pulled up all of the local electronic stores on the internet, showed me the best options for my needs, printed out the pages on the computers (so I would know what to look for- after all, I’m a writer not a computer expert) and sent me on my way with her phone number programmed in my phone. She told me to return with my new computer, my old computer, and my DSL box and she’d have me up and running before 6 p.m. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I must have a serious pout. I picked everything up at 6 p.m. as promised.
As I signed on my new, fully functioning computer, this morning, I was thanking God for Linda. I thought about all Linda did for me yesterday to make this posting possible. She went over and beyond normal customer service. She was like the Energizer Bunny- she just kept giving. God calls believers to this standard. We are to do what is beyond the norm and have people asking why. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” I can promise you it works. I am praising God right now for Linda, the Computer Chick.
Hi Susan! I finally found your email with your blog link in the spam folder. I advised my email you are not spam. Great work going on here. Sorry to hear about your computer, but glad to know you were able to get a new one. What a blessing. Great customer service from Linda!
