Have you ever wondered if you really matter to God? How far would He be willing to go for you? If you read in Isaiah 43, He comes right out and says He would do whatever it takes to have you in right relationship with Him.
The Message puts it this way:
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end- Because I am GOD, your personal God.” It doesn’t get more personal than that…God says He is your personal God. How awesome!
In the past few days in Cobb County, there have been some people wondering where God was in all the flood waters. It has been tragic for some families. They’ve lost everything and are sleeping on cots in the civic center trying to figure out what they are going to do. However, if you read the scripture above, God tells us where He has been in all of this. “When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.”
God doesn’t always remove us from difficult situations. But just because He leaves us in a situation doesn’t mean He leaves us. He is right there beside us every step of the way, carrying us when necessary. God is faithful [Deuteronomy 7:9]. He will be with us wherever we go [Joshua 1:9].
When you are going through a difficult time, crying out to God, wondering where He is, you can rest in the knowledge He is right by your side. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. You matter to Him. You matter so much to Him He was willing to send His Son to die for you [John 3:16]. He will be your ever present source of strength in difficult times. Cling to Jesus. He’s right by your side.
