When was the last time you were totally wowed by God? I must say He blew my socks off this Thursday. As you know, we are collecting funds to provide a banquet feast for the ladies of Ghana. We’ve been slowly but steadily moving our way towards our goal of $5000 to feed 1000 women. Thursday morning in my quiet time I read about living in complete dependence on God. I told Him my greatest desire was to live a life totally surrendered to what He had for me.
I went to our church prayer group that morning and while I was there, a woman came up to me and said she would bring $250 to me next week for our Miracle Meals. I came home and went to the mailbox and there were two $100 checks for the Miracle Meals. In 4 hours, God brought forth $450 for our cause. I felt like I was living in the midst of a miracle as great as feeding the five thousand. I was completely blown away.
Mark 11:24 says “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” I don’t believe Jesus is telling us He is like a genie in a bottle and we just rattle off our wish list and we get what we want. We must have our heart focused on the things of God and seek things that line up with the will of God.
Psalm 36:4 says “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.” The promise is based on the condition. If we delight ourselves in the Lord, we will have righteous desires which line up with the Word and the Lord will have no problem giving us the desires of our heart.
What do you need to see God do in your life today? Does it line up with the Word of God? If so, then ask Him for it boldly, believing He hears your request and will honor it. Thank Him for it in advance and watch for Him to move. Remember, as the praises go up, the blessings come down.
