Have you read the book of Ruth lately? I’ve been camped there for a while with some ladies and I have to say, we’ve all decided Boaz is the man. He would be worthy of a character study for any young man. He is kind, honest, generous, and bold in his faith. He walked it out in every aspect of his life.
After studying Boaz, I have to admit I began asking myself “Do I live my faith boldly and walk it out in every aspect of my life or do I speak about Jesus when it is socially acceptable?” What about you?
Matthew 10:32-33 says “Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven.” Jesus doesn’t mince words. If we don’t acknowledge Him, He disowns us in return. There isn’t a third choice. So when we sit down to a meal with family, friends or work associates, do we acknowledge Him or disown Him? When a crisis arises and prayer is our first instinct, do we ask others to join us in prayer, knowing “where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them.” or do we bow our head when no one is looking and pray [Matthew 18:20].
The teams of this world are clearly established. We have to choose which team we’re part of and walk it out. Jesus made it abundantly clear we’re either for Him or against Him. Joshua stated in Joshua 25:15 “….choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,…. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
You’ve heard the old expression “Actions speak louder than words.” It is time we start walking out our choice, like Boaz, in every aspect of our lives. So, who will you chose today?
