Do you like listening to stories? I love hearing a good story. I especially love hearing stories of God moving in a mighty way in someone’s life. It strengthens us to hear testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
I recently heard a story of a woman named Stellah. She was out west and knew the Lord told her to return to Atlanta. There was only one problem; Stellah didn’t have money to travel to Atlanta. In faith, she packed her things and went to the airport. She sat in a chair near the ticket counter and waited to see what “Do not to forget me, I am Your daughter, and You called me to return to Atlanta. I need for You to provide a way for me to travel.” She returned to her seat and waited.
After a while Stellah returned to the restroom to pray once more. When she returned to her seat, she saw a man arguing with someone at the ticket counter. The man turned around and said “Who here is going to Atlanta?” She raised her hand sheepishly. He told the woman at the ticket counter “Give it to her” and he left. The lady at the ticket counter called Stellah forward and asked her name. A few minutes later she handed Stellah a ticket for a flight to Atlanta. Stellah replied, “I don’t have money to pay for a ticket.” The lady told her the ticket was paid for in full so all she needed to do was head to the gate. God doesn’t just give gifts to His children, He goes over and beyond when He gives a gift. When Stellah arrived at the gate, she was surprised yet again. She flew first class to Atlanta. As my friend, Charles Sineath, likes to say “God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.”
In Psalm 44:1-3 the psalmist recalled the faithfulness of God to the Israelites. He recalled the stories of old to strengthen the faith of those listening, even hundreds of years later.
There is power in testimony. What has God done in your life? Have you told anyone about it recently? If not, it’s time to share. Not only does it strength those who listen, but it also puts the one sharing in remembrance of the goodness of God and His faithfulness [Hebrews 10:23]. Revelation 19:11 calls Him “Faithful and True.”
Please comment and share a time when God was faithful and true to you. We’ll all be blessed by it.
