Fortunately for us, God knows us, warts and all, and He still chooses to love us [Psalm 139:1-6, Romans 5:8]. He doesn’t just love us, but He spends time with us—not because He has to, but because He wants to be with us. Matthew 28:20 says He’s with us always. If that’s where things stopped, it would be pretty incredible. Let’s face it, we’re not always the most pleasant people to be around. We all have our moments, but God chooses to remain. He doesn’t hang around us as a guardian, looking after us as we might look after a child we’re babysitting. He chooses a much more intimate relationship with us. In John 15:15, He says, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” He’s held nothing back from us [Psalm 84:11].
Now I have some amazing friends, but Jesus takes the cake, hands down. He truly is my BFF and He desires to be yours as well. Have you granted Him full access, removing all barriers? He won’t ever use anything you share with Him against you. He’s your biggest fan. Jeremiah 31:3 reminds of us of the kind of love relationship He’s offering, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
Do you need a friend today? Allow me to introduce you to Jesus. Already know Him? Then do you know someone who needs to meet Him? Why not introduce them today.
