Which search engine do you use when you are trying to find out information? Do you automatically go to Google or are you loyal to Bing? I know there are others out there, but they are not as well known.
This morning when I sat in front of my computer to blog, Facebook was open and I happened to catch a post by Rita Springer. If you aren’t familiar with Rita Springer, I cannot stress enough how you should run, not walk, to iTunes and buy every CD she’s ever released. She’s amazing! Every once and a while she’ll show up at our church to lead worship and it is like stepping into heaven. She gives you a fast pass to the Thrown Room of God. Anyway, back to her quote. It was priceless.
God was (still is) the real Google before Google was Google.
I know we all use a search engine to find a website or maybe even a recipe or something, but what do you do when you have tough questions, questions about life? Google or Bing don’t have a moral or ethical compass programmed into them. They have no heart, soul and spirit with which to guide you. If you rely on them, then you’re choosing to gather information with your mind without using the other. It’s like the new Ford commercial that stresses the word and where they talk about how weird it would be if you had to choose bed or breakfast instead of Bed and Breakfast. It was never meant to be that way.
Jeremiah 33:3 says,
Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
God’s not only going to provide the answers you need to your questions, but He will share things with you that you couldn’t search on Google or Bing, unsearchable things. How cool is that? When you seek God for answers to life’s questions, you’re not only using your mind, but your heart, soul, and spirit. And is better than or.
I don’t know what your day will be like today or what you’ll need to know to maneuver your way through it, but I do know where you can find the answers to all the questions that pass through your mind… God. He may choose to tell you directly, or He may reveal it to you in the Word, through your circumstances or through other people, but He will answer you.
What question do you have for him today?
