The Highlands of Scotland
Have you ever been to the United Kingdom? It is made up of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and England.
I spent the last 10 days there and it was a glorious trip. I’ve dreamed of going to London ever since I was a little girl. Movies like My Fair Lady, Notting Hill, and Parent Trap all caused me to long to go there, not to mention watching Downton Abbey.
I have a friends who live as missionaries in Scotland and I’ve heard about the beautiful rolling hills and the green countryside for a long time and have wanted to see it for myself. It is absolutely breathtaking.
I started my journey in Scotland. Not only were the trees and flowers bursting with color at the onset of spring, but it is birthing season for the little lambs. They were everywhere.
On our drive to the William Wallace monument, we saw a group of little lambs resting in the field right by the road, just waiting for someone to take their picture. I pulled the car over (Yes, I drove from the right side of the car on the left side of the road and lived to tell about it).
I was on a mission to get pictures of Mary… you know, the Little Lamb.
I walked down the road to get to the little lambs and was just lining the picture up when someone drove by and blew their horn causing the lambs to jump up and start running. They ran immediately to their parents to find safety. I was frustrated at first by what took place, but then I realized God was giving me a visual, a teachable moment if you will.
When we sense danger, our first response should always be to jump up and run to our Father.
He tells us so in His Word. Psalm 46:1b says,
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Matthew 11:28 says,
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Are you going through a difficult time in your life right now? Do you have a hard decision you need to make? Do you sense danger lurking? Whatever you’re facing in life today, don’t walk, but run to the Father and He will guide you, direct you and protect you.
thank you
