Have I mentioned to you that I started a new workout program in January? It's crazy intense. It's called Hammer & Chisel and more days than not, I feel like I'm the nail getting hammered by this workout. It is all about weight lifting and strength building, which is good considering I had virtually no upper body strength when I began this workout. What is your pastor teaching on during this Christmas season? Our church finished up a study of the book of Acts yesterday. Pastor Tom shared from Acts 27 and 28 yesterday. He talked of how Paul was on a ship caught in a horrible storm and it appeared all was lost, including the lives of everyone on board. Do you collect anything at Christmas time? For a while I collected Christmas tea pots. That fad passed quickly and I switched to snowmen. The top of my entertainment center looks like we had a major snow storm, I have so many snowmen up there. The most recent thing I've been collecting is nativity scenes. Can you believe it's December 1st? Just 24 days until Christmas. I think it seems to come faster each year. It's Thanksgiving week and I'm excited. Traffic on the interstates will soon be moving at a snail's pace. Do you have to experience it? One year, traffic was so bad my younger brother turned his car off while sitting on the interstate to conserve gas. It's crazy. Airports are equally as hectic. What comes to mind when you think of November? Do you think about Thanksgiving or are you like American retailers and immediately jump from Halloween to Christmas? Do you think of Pilgrims and Indians, turkey, or pumpkin pie? One thing I miss about teaching elementary school is the large celebrations of any and every holiday. Children will embrace them all.
