IMPOSSIBLE? NOT!

The Rescuing Hope Coffee House at Riverstone Church. How has 2016 been for you so far? For me it has been like a fast moving train and I've been trying to keep up. I apologize for not posting last week. With the first Rescuing Hope Coffee House I was firing on all cylinders. I've been chewing on what I am about to share with you; however, it never made it from my journal to the computer until now. On Thursday night, when I stood up to speak to those who attended the Coffee House at Riverstone Church, I [...]

Whose boat are you in?

What is your pastor teaching on during this Christmas season? Our church finished up a study of the book of Acts yesterday. Pastor Tom shared from Acts 27 and 28 yesterday. He talked of how Paul was on a ship caught in a horrible storm and it appeared all was lost, including the lives of everyone on board. Paul stepped up to the plate and told everyone on board they wouldn't die. In a time when he was the odd man out, he was willing to step up and speak truth, even though the circumstances didn't point to the truth [...]

It was a blessing not only to hear him sing, but to hear some of the stories behind the songs he wrote.  When he was talking about faith and fear he said something very profound, It takes more faith to believe fear. Fear disappoints me more than hope, I just give it more [...]

Give or take?

Do you like getting gifts? What about receiving them? I love, love, love to give people gifts. One of my favorite parts of Christmas is gift giving. I honestly have more fun watching people open the gifts I give them, than opening gifts myself, especially when it's something they weren't expecting. This Christmas my husband was the one I was able to surprise in a big way. He had opened all of his gifts, or so he thought, when I started looking around the room as if I was searching for something. I told him he had one more gift [...]

WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, HOW?

How often do we ask ourselves these questions? If you like me, you ask at least one a day, if not many of the multiple times. This morning, I was reading in the book of Acts and came across Acts 20:22, which caused me to pause: And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there." Have you ever done this? Have you ever started moving forward in a direction you felt the Lord prompting you to go when you had absolutely no clue what would happen or where you'd land? [...]
